Results and major findings

                                 i.            The participation of the community in planning and implementation was found to be very good. The villagers including the women are now party to decision-making process regarding the project activities.

                             ii.            There has been 1 %, 16 % and 3 % increase in Kharif, Rabi and summer crops respectively and this needs to be further increased in the forth coming years.

                           iii.            There is an average 32 % increase in biomass cover over the wasteland in the project area. Almost 20% area was treated against the target and released money of 9.69 % of the project cost till December 2001.

                            iv.            The project has created a good impression in terms of uplifting socio economic status of the villagers.
