Evaluation of Integrated Wasteland Development Programme in Mohkhed block in Chindwada District of Madhya Pradesh

Results and major findings

                                i.            The quantity and quality of works were found very good as compared to impact and performance. There is 3.61 % increase in crop area due to project activity in the first year. Almost 23 % area was treated against the target and released money of 9.61 % of the project cost till December 2001.

                             ii.            Maintenance of accounts and record keeping was found satisfactory.

                           iii.            The community organisation for planning and implementation was found satisfactory, however it requires even more efforts and need to be strengthened in the forth-coming years. There were encouraging signs of people's participation in planning and execution of works.

              iv.     The disbursement of payment etc was done in front of villagers, which shows transparency in the system.
